Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera, born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1939. She began her career working as a publicist for Emilio Pucci and hence as she suggested from a young age her “eye was accustomated to see beautiful things.” Therefore, in 1972 she first appeared on the International Best Dresses list.

 

However, it wasn’t until 1981 with the courage of her friend Diana Vreeland; Editor-in- chief of Vogue, suggested that Carolina designed a clothing line. And hence debuted her first collection at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Club  which conclude with Carolina’s clothes being windowed in a well-known Park Avenue boutique.
